Fantastic Mothers Day

On Sunday, the 9th of may it was Mothers day. On Mothers day me and my brother did a surprise on my mum. We made a burger for my mum’s breakfast. Then me and my brother made a coffee and it was yummy. For lunch me and my brother told mum to relax so we can make lunch for her it was hard because me and my brother don’t really know what to make for lunch. But it came to the decision that we would give her desert.

Did your mum have a good Mothers day?

Creative Technology

In Te Ngahere the year 7 and 8 went to Morewa School for technology. The year 8’s learnt how to make a waka out of two blocks of wood. The person that was teaching us how to make the Waka was Mr E. He is very good at explaining how to make the Waka when everyone started on there waka Angus was the first one to finish cutting out the hole in a few hours. Then he had to move on to smoothing out the inside of the Waka.

Have you ever been to Technology?

Mind blowing facts about Kawa of care

Two weeks ago in Te Ngahere we have been working on kawa of care in class. The kawa of care helps you look after your chromebook I made my DLO about why you should not drink next to your chromebook. We were working on the kawa of care we had to do it on a google slide. This is what you should never do next to your chromebook. Have you ever broke the kawa of care?

Fantastic Food Web

Last week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about food webs. When we were doing food webs we had to use arrow because the arrows are explaining what the consumers eats. Also here's a explanation I think the arrows are explaining what gets eaten. If the arrow was coming from a tui to a plant then that means the plant is eating the Tui so it should be the other way. So the arrows are a to be ponting from the plant to the Tui. When the Tui eats the plant the Tui gets energy, because the plant is just energy. The hardest thing for me was thinking where the arrow go. But once I got the hang of it, it was easy. Also I made a good drawing for the food web.

Have you learnt about food web?

For Real Tsunami

Last week there was a tsunami happening. The teachers did the roll to see if everyone was here then we all went to high ground next to the school. We were all waiting the for tsunami warning then my mum and my nan come and my nan asked the principal where me, Christopher and Jahniqua were. The prinstable said we are over by my friends then she told us to get in the car. We went to my nan’s house in Kawakawa she said it will be safe there because there are a lot of big hills and it won’t make it over.

Were you there when the tsunami happened?

Swim Safety

Today in Te Ngahere we have been learning about swimming safety. There are five safety rules that we were learning about. What I learnt was you have to wear a life jacket when you are on the boat and check the weather before you go out. Also tell someone before you do go out and take a flare or a beacon. I did learn a lot because I didn't know anything about the rules until Tracy came and told us about them. Did you know the rules?

Beach cleaning.

This Friday we are cleaning the beach.  My class are going to walk to the beach downtown and pick up the rubbish.   We are doing this because the rubbish will hurt our sea animals so we want to protect our sea animals.  We are going to wear gloves to pick up the rubbish so we don’t get hurt by glass or sharp stuff. We are going to place the rubbish in a rubbish bag.  When we come back after cleaning the beach we are having a sausage sizzle for lunch. We have to bring money to get sausages because it is a fundraiser for Te Ngahere.
