Swim Safety
Today in Te Ngahere we have been learning about swimming safety. There are five safety rules that we were learning about.
What I learnt was you have to wear a life jacket when you are on the boat and check the weather before you go out. Also tell someone before you do go out and take a flare or a beacon.
I did learn a lot because I didn't know anything about the rules until Tracy came and told us about them.
Did you know the rules?

Beach cleaning.
This Friday we are cleaning the beach. My class are going to walk to the beach downtown and pick up the rubbish. We are doing this because the rubbish will hurt our sea animals so we want to protect our sea animals. We are going to wear gloves to pick up the rubbish so we don’t get hurt by glass or sharp stuff. We are going to place the rubbish in a rubbish bag. When we come back after cleaning the beach we are having a sausage sizzle for lunch. We have to bring money to get sausages because it is a fundraiser for Te Ngahere.

inter school cross country
On Friday we are going to Waikare for inter school cross country. We had our school Cross Country on Week 6 (Friday) and the people who ran and came first, second or third got to go to Waikare. I am a bit nervous to run because I think the students are really fast. We got to do training before we go. I think I am going to come second or third because the other school are probably faster than me and the other people as well. We were leaning to never give up and try your best.

Cross contry
Te Ngahere has been doing cross country for a few weeks and you have to do one lap around the pump track and the court then run down the steps or jump down and do one more lap and then your done. Now we do five laps this one is so cool and when I finish today I was tired and I didn't know I beat my time. And when I knew that I bet my time I was happy and tired.
